We are the Vallejo Dog Training Club
The Vallejo Dog Training Club (VDTC) was started in 1948 and is a sanctioned member of the American Kennel Club. We are a California non-profit group of dog enthusiasts that promote dog training, host, attend and compete in AKC and other dog events.
We welcome dogs of all ages and all breeds to come train with us. Thousands of dogs have participated in our classes and workshops over the years and many families come back to our classes with each new dog they acquire.
We moved from Vallejo to our current location 4740 East 2nd St, Benicia in 2014.
Our Mission:
- Protect and further the advancement of all dogs
- Promote the training of all dogs and disseminate knowledge of humane training methods to enhance the human/canine bond
- Conduct classes and other activities for the training of dogs and the education of their handlers
- Encourage the training of Judges
- Hold and support obedience trials and any other American Kennel Club events for which the club is eligible under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club
- Promote cooperation and good sportsmanship in the training and exhibition of dogs.
Club Community Involvement
The Vallejo Dog Training Club is more than just a place to train- we are a group dedicated to fostering positive relationships between dogs and their owners while making an impact in our local area.
Community Service
Some of our members volunteer with animal rescues, fostering or puppy raising, and visiting facilities like hospitals and libraries as Certified Pet Therapy teams.
Club Events
We get together to host or volunteer at training events and workshops. We have members only classes as well as fun community walks and other dog friendly social outings.
Dog Sports
Many VDTC members have a great time with their dogs in a range of dog sports like Nosework, Scentwork, Rally, Obedience, Canine Freestyle, Hunting, Dock Diving, FasCat, Conformation and more.
