Pet Dog Class Information
Learn new skills with your dog using positive reinforcement methods that are fun for people and dogs of all ages!  Students train in person once a week and get a clicker, links to download a Puppy Preschool or Beginning Manners Manual as well as email, text and phone help as needed. 
Download Before You Get Your Puppy & After You Get Your Puppy the 2 FREE e-books by Dr Ian Dunbar.  Both are "must reads" for dog people and will jump start your training.
How to register for our in person pet dog classes​

  4. A link to download your class materials will be on your receipt when you purchase the class.
  5. A reminder will be sent the week prior to class start.

PUPPY Preschool $175
45 min a week for 4 weeks at VDTC
Taught by Trish Iriye
For puppies 5 mo and under only.  Puppy Preschool is a structured on leash class that provides learning and socialization for pups who have been seen by a local vet and had at least one round of puppy shots.  We offer safe and fun exposure to people and other pups while practicing foundation behaviors like attention/ focus, puppy handling, come, sit, down, hand target and more.

BEGINNING MANNERS A Indoor Training $200
Save $50 when you enroll in Manners A & B together
1 hour a week for 4 weeks at VDTC 
Taught by Trish Iriye
Positive reinforcement group class for non reactive dogs of all ages with proof of age appropriate vaccines.  This one hour class meets indoors once a week for 4 weeks.  Dogs learn how to focus on you in a group environment while practicing basic skills including sit, down, stay, hand target, leave it, and great recall games.  Manners B starts the following week (week 5) for 4 weeks of real world practice and new skills at different Benicia parks.  Class fees are refundable up to one week before class start.

BEGINNING MANNERS B Out on the Town $200
1 hour a week for 4 weeks at public Benicia locations for real world training 
Taught by Trish Iriye
Beginning Manners B is the second half of the Beginning Manners course and expands on the foundation skills taught in session A. Practice putting basic skills to work in real life "out with your dog" scenarios at different Benicia parks and walking areas.  Grads of Manners AB and VDTC members can join us at any B walk for outdoor practice for free.  Check VDTC Calendar for where we'll be.
